ISID to launch large-scale e-publishing system-Marketing alliance with Open Market of the U.S.-Information Services International - Dentsu, Ltd. (ISID, headquartered in Nakano, Tokyo; Jutaro Takinami, CEO; ¥743 million in capital) has teamed up with the U.S. company, Open Market Inc. (based in Burlington, MA) to market Open Market's Internet Publishing System (IPS) in Japan, starting in July this year. IPS is equipped with an array of service and publication management features for the comprehensive design, editing, and management of extensive Web content. As such, it can be utilized as a powerful tool for the development of effective and dynamic websites. ISID plans to aggressively market the IPS package to Japanese corporations
that are gearing up to build new portal sites or other large-scale Web systems. A succession of big companies across Japan have begun designing and setting up vast portal sites on the Web as part of a bid to capitalize on the e-business boom. In an age that increasingly values speed, it is understood that companies who take too long to set up their portal sites or otherwise lose opportunities due to poor timing may ultimately see their business performance seriously compromised. On the other hand, some of the major portal sites already in operation are in need of reconstruction because they were originally hobbled together for the provision of multiple services and functions, and as a consequence, have become increasingly plagued by problems ranging from incompatibilities and slow processing times to generally poor ease of use. Backed by its own arsenal of Internet technologies, ISID has for some time been honing its strengths as a provider of integrated consulting services and marketing expertise in effective business strategies. It has also been heavily involved in the development of Internet banking services and other mission critical applications. Noting current trends in the net business, ISID was drawn to IPS as a
solution tool for the provision of services that can help corporate clients
develop large portal sites and get them up and running within substantially
shorter lead times than has been the case to date. Largely for this reason,
ISID decided to seek a collaborative marketing arrangement with Open Market's
Japanese subsidiary, Open Market Japan Co., Ltd. (Nao Nakaoka, CEO; based
in Minato-ku, Tokyo) a company that has been engaged in marketing and providing
after-sales services and technical support to clients in Japan.
