The Strengthening of ISID Asian Operations

- Representative office established in Shanghai and investment boosted in ISI-Dentsu Malaysia -

In moves to strengthen business in Asia, Information Services International - Dentsu, Ltd. (ISID, head office in Nakano, Tokyo; Jutaro Takinami, CEO; ¥8180.5 million in capital) has decided to set up a representative office of its Hong Kong subsidiary in the mainland Chinese city of Shanghai, and will also invest additional capital in its Malaysian subsidiary. Both of these operations will play important roles as key suppliers of IT support to growing manufacturing industries in Asia.

In the past, Japanese industry has viewed the Asian region as a venue for manufacturing, sales and material supply. Yet there is an increasing trend towards the establishment of research facilities in Asia, centering primarily on the assembly processing industry of major electrical and precision equipment manufacturers. As companies have expanded overseas by moving abroad such operations as the development of manufacturing technology and facilities for the production of parts, it has become essential to form technologies and facilities tailored to local conditions. This movement is becoming more widespread throughout China, Malaysia and the rest of Asia.

Through subsidiaries in Singapore and Hong Kong, ISID has already been working to support development, design and manufacturing operations in the region, particularly with regard to CAD/CAM/CAE/PDM software sales and support. However, to fully cater to the needs of clients operations have been expanded and reinforced.
