Service Provider
-ISID Fairness to Commence "Perfect
Web" Service on September 2-
Information Services International-Dentsu, Ltd. (ISID, head office: Nakano-ku, Tokyo, Representative: Jutaro Takinami, President & CEO) has established the company "ISID Fairness, Ltd." which will provide the "Perfect Web" service, combining services of a number of financial information service vendors and presenting them on the Web. The new company will open for business on September 2.
"Perfect Web" is a service which takes some of the services provided by Reuters, the Dow Jones, G-Search and other leading financial information service vendors, and combines them as an ASP (Application Service Provider).
It enables users to access the service easily from office PCs connected to the Internet via LAN, and also to arrange at will the service required.
"Perfect Web" has been in operation as an Internet financial information service since 1999. It had been operated by UFJ Tsubasa Securities Co. Ltd., but in order to enable the service to be extended and to enrich its functions, it has been transferred to ISID's newly created specialist company ISID Fairness Ltd., and will go into operation under the new company's management on September 2.
With the distribution of this service, ISID and ISID Fairness Ltd. will be offering a transformation of the financial information base through the application of information technology, by providing high-quality financial information as well as an Internet ASP service with a high level of convenience at low cost.
[Financial Market Information Services: Current Status and Issues]
Hitherto, the modus operandi of financial market information services has been for provider companies to sell or rent dedicated terminals to users, and to feed the information to those terminals. Currently, users needing a number of information sources have to acquire a separate terminal for each information provider.
Also, with each terminal requiring its own dedicated telecommunication line, increases in communication costs and operating expenses have been facts of life.
Furthermore, more and more companies are introducing 401k pension plans; hand in hand with the change in the social environment that this trend represents, market information has become a part of the social infrastructure; market information has also become important to ISID as a base for its solutions business.
Therefore, a number of needs have become obvious: the need to fuse market information and key business functions; the need to make advanced use of market information, to reduce information costs and curbing the cost of investment; the need to make effective use of resources (e.g. terminals and space); the need to adopt services of several information vendors; to look at information not only at the office but also at home or outside the office.

"Perfect Web" is a service that provides market information from various sources made available through the medium of an Internet ASP (Application Service Provider).
Users sitting at their own PCs connected to the Internet can access the market information and news retrieval services of Reuters First Web, Dow-Jones, G-Search and other sources, without any need for special hardware, software or for a special environment.
